AZ SnowZone Is Moving Near Surprise — Built by Riders, Not Backed by Big Money

If you live in Surprise, Arizona, there’s something important to know about AZ SnowZone as we move to our new Glendale location.

AZ SnowZone is not a corporate-backed facility, not owned by a wealthy family, and not funded by outside investors with no connection to the sport. This is a locally funded project, built from the ground up by people who actually ride.

Our owner is on the slope regularly, testing features, teaching, riding, falling, fixing things, and improving the park in real time. AZ SnowZone exists because of passion, persistence, and a belief that Arizona deserves access to snow sports without needing money, connections, or mountain homes.

As we move closer to Surprise, we want the community to understand what makes this place different.

AZ SnowZone is the first indoor dry-ski and snowboard park in the United States to use the newest generation of advanced dry-ski turf at this scale. This surface is designed to replicate real snow movement better than anything currently available in the country. It allows riders to learn edge control, balance, stopping, and progression in a way older turf systems simply cannot.

This isn’t a copy-and-paste concept. It’s something built through research, testing, trial, and plenty of bruises along the way.

The move to Glendale brings AZ SnowZone closer to Surprise and the rest of the West Valley, making it easier for local riders, families, and first-timers to access snowboarding and skiing year-round. For Surprise residents, that means no lift tickets, no weather delays, and no long drives just to learn the basics or stay sharp between winter trips.

Summers in Surprise can shut down most outdoor sports. AZ SnowZone offers a climate-controlled, indoor option that keeps people active while building real skills that transfer directly to on-snow riding.

Because AZ SnowZone is locally funded, community support matters. Every visit, lesson, share, and recommendation helps keep this project moving forward. This isn’t a polished resort with unlimited backing — it’s a growing facility built by riders for riders, trying to do something that hasn’t been done before in the United States.

As we prepare to open in our new Glendale location, close to Surprise, we’re asking the West Valley community to be part of this from the start. Ride with us, learn with us, and help spread the word.

If you’re in Surprise, AZ, AZ SnowZone is now one of the closest places in the Valley to experience snowboarding and skiing year-round — built by someone who actually rides, using the most advanced dry-ski turf in the country.

More updates, opening details, and community opportunities will be shared soon as we continue building this together.
